How to Release Your Song on Spotify, Apple Music and Boomplay
You cannot upload directly to Spotify or Apple Music. You need a distributor. Here is the full process.

Step 1: Choose a distributor

DistroKid, TuneCore, Ditto and Africori all work well from Nigeria. Compare annual fees against per-release fees and check which ones pay out to Nigerian bank accounts without stress.

Step 2: Prepare your assets

You need the mastered WAV (16-bit, 44.1kHz minimum), cover artwork at 3000x3000 pixels with no blurry text, your exact artist name spelled consistently, songwriter credits and the release date.

Step 3: Set your release date at least three weeks out

This is the step most independent artists skip, and it costs them. Three weeks lead time makes you eligible to pitch for editorial playlists. Same-week releases cannot be pitched at all.

Step 4: Claim your artist profiles

Spotify for Artists and Apple Music for Artists are free. Claim them the moment your release is delivered so you can add photos, a bio and see your listener data.

Step 5: Register for royalties

Distribution pays you streaming royalties. It does not pay publishing royalties. Register with COSON or a publishing administrator to collect the rest of what you are owed.

We walk every artist in our full song package through this process at no extra charge.
